Prediction: Winnipeg proved to be a hard out for the Sharks winning more times than they lost and making more finals than the Sharks. Jets in SEVEN.

(3) Columbus versus (6) Dallas
Dallas wins the series 13 times versus 12 wins for Columbus.
Columbus wins the Stanley Cup once, loses the final once, loses the third round 3 times and the second round 7 times.
Dallas never makes it past the third round losing twice, and losing 10 times in the second round.
Prediction: This was the tightest series and the only one to go 13-12. I’ll take the defending champions in a tight one. BlueJackets in SEVEN.

(4) Vancouver versus (5) Anaheim
Vancouver wins the series 22 times versus 3 wins for Anaheim.
Vancouver wins the Stanley Cup a league leading (tied with Florida 7 times), loses in the final another 3 times, loses in the third round another 8 times, and the second round 4 times. Vancouvers’ 18 third round appearances led every RSHL squad.
Anaheim lost the final one time, lost the third round one time, and the second round one time. Anaheim took pretty good advantage of their 3 advancements past round 1.
Prediction: Anaheim surprised everyone to get into a 5 seed but then ran into the what has to be the highest point total 4 seed team ever. Vancouver in FIVE.

(1) Florida versus (8) New Jersey
Florida won the first round series more than any other team with 23 victories while New Jersey snuck in 2 upsets.
Florida tied with Vancouver for the RSHL lead with 7 Stanley Cup wins, lost the final 3 more times, lost the third round 6 times and the second round 7 times.
New Jersey lost the second round both times they made it that far.
Prediction: Maybe next year New Jersey. Florida in FIVE.

(2) Montreal versus (7) Pittsburgh
The favourite Montreal won the first round series only 11 times while the underdog Penguins took 14 first round wins.
Montreal made 4 Finals appearances winning 1 and losing 3. The Canadiens lost the third round 2 times and the second round 5 times.
Pittsburgh lost the final 2 times, lost the third round 2 times, and the second round proved difficult losing 10 times.
Prediction: Pittsburgh has been on the cust for a long time and will prove to be a tough out for the Canadiens. Pittsburgh in SIX.

(3) NYI versus (6) Hartford
Islanders dominated the simulations with 19 wins while the Whalers only won 6 times.
The Islanders made 6 Stanley Cup finals winning 3 and losing 3 as well they lost in the third round 3 times and second round 10 times.
The Whalers managed to make the Finals once losing to Vancouver. The Whalers lost in the third round 2 times and the second round 3 times the only times they made it past the Islanders.
Prediction: Islanders totally dominated. Hartford didn’t even put up a fight so its hard to pick against this dominance. Islanders in FIVE.

(4) Toronto versus (5) Quebec
Toronto took it to Quebec winning the first round series 17 times and the Nordiques took 8 trips past the first round.
Toronto lost the Final 2 times, lost in the third round 7 times, and the second round 8 times.
Quebec made it as far as the third round losing all 3 times, and lost 5 more times in the second round.
Prediction: Toronto is looking to make a run this season and could really use help with a Pittsburgh upset of Montreal or a Hartford upset of the Islanders to avoid the Panthers in the second round. Prediction: Toronto IN FIVE.
